Pregnancy Care
Pregnancy Planning
Pregnancy planning is recommended for all women and couples. A pregnancy planning consult aims to assess and optimise the health of women planning pregnancy and their partner.
A woman’s health and wellbeing before conception can affect her baby’s health and development, there are many factors to consider prior to becoming pregnant to give the best chance of a healthy pregnancy and baby.
Your doctor will provide advice around investigations and screening that is recommended prior to becoming pregnant, as well as lifestyle factors to optimise fertility.
You are pregnant
We recommend the first pregnancy visit take place prior to 8 weeks. At this visit you will be provided with information regarding ongoing pregnancy care as well as investigations that are recommended through the first trimester and beyond.
Your Doctor is accredited to provide antenatal shared care in conjunction with The Royal Hospital for Women. Shared care is for women with uncomplicated pregnancies who will deliver at RHW. It provides personalised and continuous care with your GP before and after delivery. It provides convenience and expert care and is a more affordable option compared to private obstetric care.
